New logo!

I'm pretty excited right now! There's LOTS going on here, and there's plenty more that I'll be sharing in the days and weeks coming up.

The first thing I wanted to tell you about is that I just concluded a logo design contest over at www.48hourslogo.com . In 4 days I received 80 different logo designs from 10 different designers. 48 hours logo is a great way to have a logo designed by professional designers, and I highly recommend it if you are in the market.

Pretty sweet, huh? So check back here true believers, lots more great stuff coming up!

Cassie + Matt Engagement Photos!

Was privileged to shoot an awesome wedding last Saturday when Melissa and Duane were married. Got to know the bride's great family a bit as well, and now, I will be taking the bride's brother's senior photos! Good connections and good times....

If so, beware of boring old-fashioned senior pics that your children will hate for years to come. I take cool senior pics like this

Pics that your kids won't be embarrassed to show their friends. Let your kids be themselves, because when you allow them to be themselves, they open up to the camera and their spirit shows through. And that's what you really want to show the relations, right?

104.4!

Hey all! That's not a cool new radio station, that was my temperature last Saturday!

I was ridiculously sick last week. So sick in fact, that I had to cancel a photo shoot! Can you believe it? 104.4 fever!

I'm all better now, and we have re-scheduled the shoot for tomorrow (Saturday) night.

So hopefully, they"ll be a shot or two up from it tomorrow or Sunday.

Last Evening

I had a photo shoot last evening in Wilkes-Barre. I'm hoping to get a shot up from it tonight. It went well overall except that the model was 15 minutes late.

MODELS! Golden rule No 1: Do not be late to a booking. It's not very professional and it could hurt your chances of being hired again. If last evening was a shoot with people doing hair and makeup and lighting, and they were standing around sipping skinny half caff latte's until you showed up, it would have been the last time that client would have hired you.

I'm just sayin'.

But no harm no foul. I'm not hard to get along with. She called, she apologized. Hopefully it was a one shot lateness.

A New Start

Here's some more of my shoot from a few weeks ago with the lovelee Ashlee.

For some reason this blog won't show my images as large as I'd like. I have it optimized for up to 1000 pixels wide, but I get these anorexic representations of the actual photos. I'm irritated.

New logo, new watermarks, new look to the blog. I just don't like any of it.

What happened a while back? This photo was taken a while back in August 09 of my wife, and I only decided to post the thing now. Granted, this blog has only been going for a few months, but this is such a lovely image, it should have been up before. Well, here it is now for all to see!

Portrait Of A Bus Driver

I was lucky enough to take some shots of my friend Lou that drives the bus for the Luzerne County Transportation Authority. He wanted some shots of himself and the bus on Public Square, since as we all know, they don't stop around the Square anymore. We got some of those, plus a few interesting shots in the bus.

So I'm taking apart this wooden flower box in the backyard that's 8 years old and falling apart. When I looked at the board and thought of the flowers that had survived Easter, I had an idea. Hope you like.

Fix It In Post

This photo was taken by photographer Len Carsillo. I processed the bottom photo to show you a bit of the process involved in Wedding photography.

First, Len took a shot of the bride and groom with a wider angle lens to capture the whole moment.

Next, I took the original image and did some post-production editing to capture the essence of the photo.

This is a stone tunnel thingy in the woods I found. I could have used some fill flash I suppose, but I liked the shadows from the trees. I cross-processed this image for the interesting highlights.
